Simon holds a Bachelor of Business Science degree from the University of Cape Town. He has extensive experience across human resources, marketing, and technology-driven business solutions, with a particular focus on payroll and accounting systems.

He is the Founder and Managing Director of Touchstone, established in 1989. Under his leadership, Touchstone developed Payplus, which became one of Zimbabwe’s leading payroll systems, and later PayDay, a Windows-based payroll platform designed to support organisations through evolving regulatory and reporting requirements. Today, Baker Tilly Central Africa uses the PayDay system.

Simon has over four decades of experience in payroll systems development and implementation. Touchstone serves clients with staff complements ranging from 5 to over 1,500 across sectors including mining, banking, NGOs, tourism, education, retail, commercial, and agriculture, with operations spanning more than 15 centres nationwide. In addition to software support and training, Touchstone provides specialised payroll outsourcing services, particularly for executive payrolls.

He has been an active member of the Computer Society of Zimbabwe (CSZ) since 1984 and served as its Treasurer for over ten years. Simon also sits on ZIMRA’s Payroll Authors’ Group advisory and liaison committee, contributing to the development and rollout of the TaRMS platform.

Simon has a strong record of civic and social responsibility. He served two terms as a City Councillor for Highlands, Harare, and was Chairperson of the Harare Street Children Organisation, where he helped establish the Luck Street Drop-In Centre. He is also committed to environmental conservation and has served for over 20 years as Chairman of the Council of the Mukuvisi Woodlands Nature Reserve.
